Bow Thrusters

Jacqui and Bob Martin (Alamea) are considering fitting a bow thruster and would like to hear from anyone who has done it already. If you would like to share your experience with them please contact martin1bp@btinternet.com

Information Wanted

I own a Colvic Countess 28 bilge keel.

I have had many interesting adventures with her and great enjoyment from her in our home waters of Porthmadog area in the top corner of Cardigan Bay and around Anglesey.

I was reading an interesting article about boat performance data etc in the February 2011 issue of Yachting Monthly.

I wondered if there was any information available regarding Angle of Vanishing Stability and Stix Number etc as I have been unable to source the data anywhere on line.

The Ballast Ratio,  Displacement/Length Ration etc I can work out from data I have and have found on the internet.

My boat, Moonfleet, was shown in the introduction to a series of articles on West Coast Harbours by Ken Enden in Yachting Monthly January 2008  - well we all have to have some claim to fame !

I hope you can help to satisfy my curiosity.

Thanks & Regards

Mike Cooke
